ARIZONA

|
Howdy from Mrs.
Eagan's 3rd grade class in sunny Arizona! We live in Chandler,
AZ located just southeast of the greater Phoenix area. Arizona
has more parks and national monuments that any other state,
more mountains than Switzerland, and more golf courses than
Scotland. Arizona is also home to one of the Seven Wonders of
the World, the Grand Canyon, which is why we are nicknamed
"The Grand Canyon State". There is even a spot
called Four Corners that allows you to stand in four states at
the same time!! Historically, Arizona's strongest economic
support came from the Four C's - cotton, copper, cattle, and
citrus. In recent years, a fifth climate has been added. Our
state bird is the cactus wren and our state flower is the
saguaro cactus blossom. We are looking forward to learning
more about your great state!

Greetings
from Ms. Davis's 4th grade class in Emerson, Nebraska! Our
school has 172 students in grades pre-school through sixth
grade. In 1964, our school consolidated with the town of
Hubbard to from Emerson-Hubbard Community Schools. Emerson is

our town is that it is located on three different counties!

while Dakota and Dixon counties split our town north and
south. Part of our town is located on the Winnebago Indian
Reservation. This allows for our town to offer cheaper gas
prices and we have a casino! In the state of Nebraska we are
big on farming and Husker football! On any Saturday in the
fall you can see the "Sea of red" at Memorial
Stadium in Lincoln. As you drive through Nebraska you ill see
